For a good part of my life I got used to being dressed in black. I suppose it was influenced by the music that I liked and that I saw some of my ‘heroes’ dressed that way. But, basically, it is a comfortable way of dressing: you don’t have to think about combinations or buying too many clothes. And besides, you pass for elegant, although in reality you are a bum. But everything tires and I got fed up with black. It was a gradual process but it started when a girlfriend gave me some colorful shoes. I remember opening the box, I saw that and I laughed. She supposed it was a joke and that she had the real gift somewhere else: black shoes, of course. But no, she looked surprised when I told her to give me the real gift. That relationship didn’t last long, of course, but I still wear the shoes he bought from time to time.

 

I left them lying around in a closet and later I tried them on again. They were red and did not match badly with my black clothes. And one day I went out like that to the street. And I like. And it was in this way that I began to incorporate color into my life. The definitive advance came when I bought a pink shirt. If someone had told me years ago that one day I was going to wear a pink shirt with colored shoes, I would have rebuked him for missing me: a man in black never loses style. After all, colors have a very important psychological component. Since I started to dress ‘normal’ I also started to see things differently. Depending on the day and my mood put one color or another. Of course I also had to start combining, something I had no idea about. Now I rarely wear anything black: even my suits are colored …
